Why Switch from ICE to EV?

EV Stealth Solutions has been championing the acceleration of the Electric Vehicle (EV) transition since its inception. Our objective has been to expand the EV experience to demonstrate the endless capability of EVs.  We believe there are many compelling reasons why you should consider transitioning from an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) car to an EV:

  • Environmental benefits: EVs produce zero emissions, which means they have a much smaller carbon footprint compared to ICE cars. EVs are also much more quieter, and therefore reducing the noise pollution that contributes to a more peaceful environment.  

  • Lower operating costs: EVs are more energy-efficient than ICE cars and require less maintenance. They also have lower fuel costs, since electricity is typically cheaper than gasoline or diesel. This can save you a significant amount of money over the long term, including lower ongoing maintenance cost. Electric motors have fewer moving parts and don't require oil changes, coolant flushes, or other maintenance tasks specific to ICE vehicles. Brake pad wear is also reduced in EVs due to regenerative braking, which uses the motor to slow down the vehicle and recover energy. While EVs still require regular maintenance such as tyre rotations, battery checks and cabin air filter replacements, the overall maintenance costs are still lower than ICE vehicles.

  • Better performance: EVs have instant torque, which means they can accelerate faster than ICE cars. Electric motors provide maximum torque from the moment the accelerator pedal is pressed, resulting in quick acceleration and responsive performance. The design of an EV typically sees the battery located low in the chassis that contributes to a lower center of gravity. This can enhance stability, cornering ability, and overall handling characteristics.

  • Government incentives: The current Australian government offers incentives and tax credits to encourage the adoption of EVs. These incentives can help make EVs more affordable and accessible to consumers, despite it currently being the largest barrier to the EV transition. Some examples include exemption of Luxury Car Tax (LCT), Fuel excise exemption and some States also offer registration discounts.

  • Improved technology: EV technology is constantly improving, with advancements in battery technology, charging infrastructure, and other related technologies. This means that newer EV models are more reliable, efficient, and more practical than ever before. The inbuilt software within an EV can also be quickly updated which can enhance performance and experience.

The Australian Government is moving in the right direction, implementing stricter regulations that includes ICE vehicle sales in some States and Territories to be phased out within 10 years. This is driving the higher adoption of EVs. The recent announcement of by the Federal government’s National EV Strategy sends a strong message towards the future of our market. Introducing a Fuel Efficiency Standard will encourage car manufacturers to supply more EVs to Australia, improving consumer choice and making it easier and cheaper to access popular EV models.
